Student Account Information

The profit earned from such fundraisers shall be kept in a special account for the benefit of the student and will be kept for his or her use in connection with activities of the band. This account will be kept for the student's benefit throughout the time he/she is enrolled in the band program.

If the student drops out of the program, the amount will be forfeited to the Auxiliary and will be used to fund the budget of the Auxiliary, or transferred to a younger sibling in the program if requested.

All trip deposits are also deposited into the student’s band account. The total of the student account includes all fundraising money as well as the trip deposits/payments.

Student account balances will be made available and posted in the bandroom and on the website periodically throughout the year. It is the responsibility of the student to check their balance.

Students are encouraged to use their band account money yearly to pay for their band trips. Final trip balances are calculated by taking the whole trip cost and subtracting the student's account balance.

If a student’s account balance exceeds the trip cost, the remaining account balance will be carried over (unless a student drops out of band or graduates, in which case the money is flipped over into the general music auxiliary fund).

Student accounts are administered and tracked by the music auxiliary treasurer. Questions regarding accounts and balances can be directed to the student’s teacher.

Much of our ability to purchase new equipment and instruments as well as maintain repairs, is realized through donations. We appreciate any support you may be able to offer the NWSS Music department and our students.

Donate to NWSS Music!

We are ACCEPTING donations of all kinds, whether it be cash or cheque, or used instruments of all sorts.

Our goals are:

• to provide good quality instruments to students who need them;
• to provide scholarships for our students’ future studies;
• to make our band and choir trips affordable for everyone.

 Gifts large and small are very much appreciated.  We currently do not need any pianos, although excellent, high quality pianos might be useful.

Make a gift in honour of your favourite student, teacher or in memory of a loved one – or simply because you love music and the opportunity for students to learn and perform. It’s a wonderful way to support the music program which means so much to our students, their families and our community.

Leave a legacy of harmony!
